Description

Gadsden Flag Clear Cast in Alumilite Resin

The Gadsden Flag is iconic with the rattlesnake and words “Don’t Tread On Me” blazing below. These blanks are made by guest blank artist, Michael Barr, who does amazing work with graphics and clear casting. If you would like to order blanks with custom image designs, you can contact Michael through his Facebook page.

The Gadsden flag is a historical American flag with a yellow field depicting a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike. Positioned below the rattlesnake are the words “DONT TREAD ON ME”. The flag is named after American general and politician Christopher Gadsden (1724–1805), who designed it in 1775 during the American Revolution. It was used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag, along with the Moultrie flag.

Modern uses of the Gadsden flag include political movements such as libertarianism and the American Tea Party as well as American soccer supporter groups, including Sam’s Army and the American Outlaws since the late 1980s.  -Source: Wikipedia

Because the tube is embedded into the casting mold, no drilling is required. The resin completely encapsulates the tube and image, so you just need to trim and turn! Finishing these blanks is a snap, just polish up the tubes like you would any standard acrylic blank.

THESE BLANKS FIT BOLT ACTION PEN KITS ONLY – Prices are per blank, which will make one Bolt Action Pen

The Alumilite Advantage!
Alumilite is by far the best resin I’ve found for casting pen blanks. It’s a joy to turn, yet it polishes up to a high gloss. Finishing these blanks doesn’t get any simpler! Just sand it up to a high grit or use micro mesh pads, then finish it off with some plastic polish or on a buffing wheel. Check out my video that walks you through my 6 step sanding and polishing method for a flawless finish on Alumilite blanks: http://nvwoodwerks.com/how-to-get-a-flawless-finish-on-alumilite-blanks/

GOOD BYE CHIPOUT!! Alumilite resin is not brittle like many of the mass produced or polyester resin blanks on the market. The blanks are cast under pressure to ensure there are no voids or trapped air bubbles in the blanks.
