How Long Should You Wait to Turn Your Resin Cast Blanks?

– Posted in: Videos

Can you turn your blanks right after you demold them? This is a question I get quite often, and in this video I explain why it’s best to wait, especially if you’re embedding objects in the resin.

Full Cure times for Alumilite and Liquid Diamonds:

Alumilite White: 72 hours

Alumilite Clear: 5-7 days

Liquid Diamonds: 1-7 days (I’d wait 3 days minimum)

It’s always best to contact the manufacturer about the resin you are using to make sure you’re giving the resin the full amount of time. Also factor in the temperature in your shop, cooler temperatures will mean slower cure schedules. If in doubt, give it an extra day =D
