White with Navy Blue Pinstripes
Standard pen blank sizes are 3/4″ diameter by 5″ long, and prices are for one blank.
Pinstripe blanks are created using a laminating method. With proper turning techniques, these blanks will turn fabulous. Improper turning, preparation or machining techniques can lead to lamination failure. Make sure you are turning at high speeds (over 3,000 rpms) and only use sharp tools when turning. Also, make sure you get proper glue coverage and bonding along the entire length of the tube and blank. Adhesion problems can occur if there are large areas lacking glue coverage between the tube & blank. Take light cuts.
These blanks are delicate, and will require careful preparation and turning to avoid de-lamination or blowouts. Check out the video below to see some tips and tricks I use when turning mixed material blanks.
